RISE 2014: Until The End of Time

Always,
I said I would change forever more,
And I see myself walking alone,
No more of the days filled with love,
I split and broken

Allah loves me,
He picks me up,
He gave me good friends,
For Him, I RISE

Perplexities and confusions overwhelming the world,
No way to tell which is truth,
Or which is lie,
Unless you hold dear the Quran and Sunnah,
Never I knew,
History will repeat itself

Until the end of time,
From the jaws of evil,
We seek protection from Him,
He is everywhere,
He sees everything,

Stories were told,
Wisdoms were seen,
Again,
I want to change forever more,
In my heart I pray,
No destructive sword will split me again,
I will RISE,
Together, we will RISE.

Akok Recipe

Assalamualaikum :D.

*My first blogpost in Cardiff and this will be very Kelantanese and 'manis'.hahaha

Since the past few days, I have wanted to eat 'akok' and it was delayed because we haven't had a blender yet. Now that the blender has arrived, the wish could be granted, Alhamdulillah. I have never bought anything online before, but in here, everything can be found in amazon.

Remember, I am not a good cook. At least, not now. However, here is the akok recipe that I have tried and people like it that I decided to share it here. So, why not give it a go and have your own akok.

AKOK
Ingredients:
  • 100 ml of water
  • 1 piece of palm sugar (usu in Malaysia it comes from coconut or nipa palm) - You can add more of this if you want it to be sweeter.
  • 2 pieces of pandan leaves
  • 200ml of coconut milk (I used fresh milk)
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 tbl spn of plain flour
  • A pinch of salt
Steps:

  1. Simmer the water, palm sugar and the knots of shredded pandan leaves until the sugar melted.
  2. Now, add everything together in a blender and blend them :D. You will get a lot of bubbles.
  3. You can either bake them in the oven or on the stove (make sure you cover them).Grease the tray with oil/butter,/margarine first. I can't give any recommendations of the temperature or time taken. Sorry.
  4. Time to have a taste on your work. Don't forget to read dua' and pray that it will taste nice.Hehehe

I know that it is quite hard to get the palm sugar in the UK, so you can use the brown sugar. I prefer the dark one. Another thing is you can use 'kuih cara' tray for this, but to make them bigger, let the batter overflow to all their sides.

Let me know if you have tried this.
Till next post.

18 things In KYUEM

Assalamualaikum.

I studied A Level in this very peaceful and beautiful college, Kolej Yayasan UEM. I love my life there because there were so many things that I have learnt throughout my stay. So, here are a few pictures in KY.
There are just so many things that you could do there.

The beautiful green KY field

1. Join as many activities as you can. Sabah Charity Outreach (SCORE)

2.  Explore the Lost World of Lembah Beringin with the fabulous friends.

 3. Crawl under the Chalet (ju-On version). I doubt that this could still be done considering that there is no more open space under the furnished chalet.

4. Charity Outreach Trip to aboriginal village.

5. Watch performances. This one was taken during Dikir Barat night.

6. Join camps and get to know others better and of course get to know yourselves even better. There are Muslim Youth Camp, Muslim Leadership Camp and Muslim Overseas Camp.

 7. Expedition. Duke of Edinburgh. I went to Gunung Brinchang(Cameron Highland), Kalumpang, and the hardest climb was at Bukit Kutu.

 8. Shower with field water sprinkler and anxiously waiting for it .

 9. Be part of Decoration Team during Dinners. This one was during College Bday Celebration with the theme of harry Potter Decoration.

 10. Eco Trips- Perlis

 11. Almost all celebrations in Malaysia. Enjoy Raya Celebration the most because of the FOOD!!!

 12. Enjoy the beautiful sky- After Subuh prayer

 13. Experience different seasons- jerebu, blazing summer, spring, autumn, wet

14. Jog around college- Did not jog much, but if you are one of the frequent joggers, KY would be an awesome place for jogging.Prefer jogging in the morning before class. I have always admired the teachers and staff who are committed enough to wake up and jog, esp the not-yet-Muslims who have the choice to enjoy the pleasure of their bed as company. We, as Muslims must always start our day early during fajr.
 15. Kyasu-ing in your room. I don't really like going to the Resource Centre apart from during the Real Exam period.

16. Buying trees for KY Green Day

17. Get new experience such as this!!! *During KIWEE  -KYUEM Islamic Week

 18. Be a part of an awesome organization, club or anything apart from the HOUSE (a TOPAZIAN). I joined Student Council.

There are a lot more things that I have and haven't done there. What I am trying to say is I miss KY and its people. To the juniors, Good luck and make the best out of your stay. Enjoy.

Resepi Choc Moist Cake Kukus Mudah

Assalamualaikum sisters (brothers ada jugak? Bravo!!)

I have never been good at baking, cooking, sewing or whatsoever, but I usually enjoy doing these things. Feel so feminine. So, here, I would like to share this one recipe that I have tried for quite a number of times and has earned my mum's compliment (Fyi, that is not so easy to be earned).

This just takes less than 10 minutes to prepare and I like the idea of not having to bake it in oven.
Just steam it. I did not even use a mixer.
I could not recall where actually I got this recipe, but here it is:

A:

  • 1 cup of choc powder
  • 1 cup of  evaporated milk
  • 1 cup of  cooking oil
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of sweetened, condensed milk
B:
  •  1 1/2 cup of wheat flour
  • 1 tspn of sodium bicarbonate
  • 1 tspn of baking powder
  • 1 tspn of vanilla essence
  • 3 eggs

METHODS:
  1. Mix all A ingredients in a pot until they mix well. Heat gently and cool them.
  2. Beat the eggs until light and fluffy (for just around 5 minutes), then add in the A mixture.
  3. Add the vanilla essence.
  4. Gradually add the sifted flour, soda bicarbonate and baking powder, beating well after each addition.
  5. Put in the steamer for around 55 minutes. (x sampai sejam pon kan? hehe). Make sure you cover the cake with plastic bag, aluminium foil or whatever that could be used.

Topping :
  • 100 ml Whipping Cream
  • 275 g Cooking Choc
  • 3/4 tbspn Butter
*Use double boiler method. Just mix everything and you do not need to whip the cream.

Good luck.
*Hanya cebisan perkongsian daripada insan yang masih banyak perlu belajar.

Cardiff University Offer

Alhamdulillah.

Jalannya berliku penuh dugaan berdurikan rintangan,
Pernah menangis bukan sekali,
Tuhan anugerahkanku nikmat,
Yang mungkin juga satu ujian,
Ujian diri dan insan tersayang,

Berapakah harga menghapuskan kehausan ini?
Berapakah harga segelas ilmu ini?
Tidak mungkin terbayar,
Apa mungkin aku tidak bersyukur?
Semoga dikurniakan kerendahan hati dan budi pekerti,
Tanda memanjatkan kesyukuran.

Aku punya cita-cita,
Menjadi antara insan terbaik,
Yang berbakti seperti kata hadis.
Semoga Allah meredhai.

Buat teman yang jalannya berbeza,
Percayalah pasti ada hikmah,
Kerana kau pasti gagah,
Kerana kau pasti tabah.
